JEE Advanced will no longer remain a hurdle for aspiring IITians.

Candidates who score among the top 2.5 lakh ranks in the JEE Main results are eligible to apply for admission to JEE Advanced. However, candidates can also take admitted to the lITs without having to appear for a competitive exam, if they so desire. Many students enroll in the IITs after getting admission through the Joint Entrance Examination, but there are also other options to gain admission to the premier engineering colleges.

Although design courses are available through CEED, many other engineering programs do not require candidates to take the competitive exam. These are the list of programmes:

IIT MADRAS' BSC DATA SCIENCE

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is offering a bachelor's degree in programming and data science to students who are currently studying classes 11 and 12, college students, and working professionals. Students can apply to take the qualifiers if they complete their class 11 by May 2022 or are currently enrolled in class 12. If they qualify for this process, they can start their coursework after completing class 12.

Besides, anyone who qualifies for JEE Mains can join the course as there is no limit on the number of seats. Aspirants should apply by April 20.

IIT GUWAHATI MASTER'S IN LIBERAL ARTS

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will start a master's programme in liberal arts for the academic session 2022-2023, with an initial batch of 30 students. As part of the course, the students will learn concepts like geospatial analytics, digital humanities, international relations, and diplomacy, study of vernacular literature and languages, area studies, etc. 

OLYMPIAD QUALIFIERS

Students who qualify for Olympiads are exempt from its regular admissions process, including a written exam. For example, IIT Bombay allowed candidates qualifying for the International Mathematics Olympiad to apply for its BSc math course directly in 2018.Indian Institutes of Technology are considering offering admissions to students who have participated in Olympiads.

SEVERAL SHORT-TERM CERTIFICATE COURSES

IIT Bombay Certificate Program in Design Thinking: 

The 5-month course was designed to help companies innovate and transform the way they develop products, services, operations, and corporate strategy. Applicants who have a two-year degree or one year of work experience are welcome to apply.

IIT Roorkee Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning:

IIT Roorkee's six-month online certificate in advanced machine learning teaches advanced techniques about machine-learning algorithms. The course will cover topics that include data analysis and modeling, deep learning and artificial intelligence applications. The course costs Rs 112,500 on Coursera.

IIT Madras Artificial Intelligence Knowledge Representation and Reasoning:

This 12-week course is offered to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The curriculum includes formalisms and associated algorithms. This is a companion to another course, Artificial Intelligence: Search Methods for Problem Solving, and both courses are available at Swayam.
