NEET Exam anounced

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses on Sunday, 6th May 2018.?

NEET 2016 was treated as the first attempt for everyone, irrespective of whether they sat for AIPMT previously or not.

Aspirants may please note that there are some changes in the exam this year

NEET UG Eligibility

Aspirants must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the required age on or before Dec 31 of the year of his/her admission to the 1st?year MBBS/BDS Course.

The upper age limit for the exam is 25 years on the exam date. A relaxation of 5 years for aspirants belonging to OBC/SC/ST category will be given.

Minimum Age Limit- The candidate should be 17 years of age by December 31, 2018.

Maximum Age Limit- The upper age limit for NEET 2018 for general category candidates is 25 years and for reserved categories, it is 30 years

The number of attempts, which an aspirant can avail, will be limited to 3 (three) uniformly to all the candidates. Appearance in NEET-2018 will be counted as first attempt.

3. On the basis of Nationality:

Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Oversees Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear in NEET (UG)-2018.

4.On the Basis of Educational Qualification

Students who have passed the class 12 or presently pursuing are eligible to appear for the exam.

Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as their subjects in Class XII.

For

General Category- 50% marks in qualifying exam.

OBC/SC/ST Category- 40% marks in qualifying exam.

General- Physically Handicapped Category- 45% marks in qualifying exam.

NEET 2018 Application Form

Candidates can fill NEET 2018 application form at cbseneet.nic.in. One must retain at least three printouts of confirmation page, proof of fee payment, 5 copies of passport size photograph (same as the one scanned), 2 post card size photos (same as in form) after submitting form.

How to apply?

You can apply/register for NEET 2018 by going through following steps.

  1. Fill the online application form.
  2. Then note down registration number.
  3. Upload photograph as well as signature.
  4. Pay application fee in any one mode.
  5. Now you can print the confirmation page and fee payment proof.

Photograph, signature specifications

In the second step of application form, you will upload scanned copies of passport size photo and signature. Their specifications are as follows.

Photograph?should be recent, passport size, with white background. It should have your (candidate?s) name and date of taking photograph. Scan the photograph in high quality and save it as jpeg file. Size of the scanned file should be between 10 kb and 100 kb.

Signature?should also be in jpeg format. Its size should be between 3 kb and 20 kb.

Neet Syllabus & Pattern

The?syllabus?is based on a common syllabus prescribed by the MCI (Medical Council of India). The syllabus have topics from?Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology?subjects.

It has been prescribed after the review of various state syllabus as well as CBSE, NCERT & COBSE. The syllabus is based on the 11th?& 12th?class standard.

  1. No. of Question:?Total?180 questions?will be asked in the exam.
  2. Exam Mode:?Exam will be conducted through offline mode (pen and paper based?mode).
  3. Type of Question:?There will be?objective?type questions (four options with one correct answer).
  4. Subjects:?Questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Zoology & Botany) subjects.
  5. Exam Duration:?The exam duration will be?3 hours.
  6. Language:?Question paper will be asked in?11?languages?like English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Oriya, Urdu Marathi and Telugu languages.
  7. Marking Scheme:?Four marks will be given for each correct answer (+4 Marks).
  8. Negative Marking:?One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer (-1 Mark).
